Foundation Routine

Hello all!
I hope you're having a great day.

This post might be really boring for some of you.
I personally love watching people's foundation routines on YouTube so I can learn new techniques.
My skin is really weird. I wouldn't say it's sensitive, but I break out really irregularly.
I've tried a wide variety of foundations ranging from drugstore to more high end. I know everyone raves about the Make Up Forever HD Foundation and I used that for a while, but I wasn't particularly impressed.
Currently I've been loving a drugstore combination.
L'Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base & L'Oreal Magic Smooth Foundation.
I used this foundation a few years ago and I forgot how much I like it.
Elle, or Allthatglitters21, on YouTube said how she had been loving this combination so I decided to give it a shot. The base is really nice, it feels like more of a lotion and doesn't have a silicone feel like a lot of primers do.
The texture of the foundation is great and it blends flawlessly.
Okay enough talking-- here's my routine.

I wash my face and apply a moisturizer, wait a minute, then apply a small amount of the base all over and wait another minute. Then I apply my foundation starting in the middle and working my way out using a flat foundation brush. Then I build up coverage where ever I need it most.

After that I use my Mac Studio Sculpt Concealer for blemishes and dark circles. I finish it off with Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural all over.

Then I contour with NARS Laguna Bronzer and apply blush. Lately I've been using a NYX cream blush.

Now I just want to throw this out there-- I don't wear foundation every day. When I have class I usually go with moisturizer, concealer and the msf.

I hope you enjoyed!
P.S. I started using my tumblr again, it's been ages.

Talk to you soon :)

Simplicity

Hello lovelies
I just have a quick OOTD
There's nothing too special about it, I just always forget how much I like these jeans.
I usually gravitate towards dark wash skinny jeans; I don't reach for these much.
They are designed really well-- the straight leg helps elongate and slim your legs.
I have really short legs, so that's great.
Although anyone could throw this outfit together, I love the way it makes me feel. The slouchy, comfortable, shirt slightly tucked in to still have shape, and the well built jeans combined is great.

Details-- V Neck: Target. Jeans: Miss Me. Belt: Forever 21. Shoes: TOMS Floral Cordones. Bracelets: Lucky Brand. Watch: D&G.

I also took photos for a makeup tutorial and my foundation routine, so keep your eye out for those posts coming soon!

Thanks for reading and have a great day :)

Spain Style

Hola todos!

So I mentioned in my very first blog post that part of the reason why I started this blog was to have a place to share my
experiences when I live in Alicante, Spain this fall.
I have been researching the fashion in Spain and I can't wait to truly experience it.

They definitely cover up more skin than Americans and large, billowy fabrics are quite common. I love seeing common trends like colored jeans and their take on it. I also enjoy seeing them in TOMS. Having a common ground will be great for starting conversation and making friends with the natives.

Also, these Spanish women look phenomenal in slouchy, boyfriend style jeans with the bottoms cuffed up to give some shape.

I'm absolutely ecstatic for this opportunity and it can't come fast enough.
I can't wait to share my experiences with you all.

Thanks for reading! Talk to you soon.

Immortal

Hellooo!

Over spring break I had the wonderful opportunity to go to the Michael Jackson
Cirque Du Soleil performance.
I cannot tell you how amazing it was.
Everything from the music, to the stage, to the costumes and the performers themselves!
I was in awe the entire time.
I would like to give a huge thank you to the Zoeller's for inviting me.

This also meant I got to spend some time with my great friends Maggie & Mandy :)

I don't know if any of you watch So You Think You Can Dance, but if you're a big fan you'll probably remember Cedric Gardner from season 3.
WELL we saw him there! Quite exciting ...I'd date him.

As for my outfit I was going for a kind of chic look. I stayed with all black to really highlight my shoes and layered some long chain necklaces for a dramatic look.
I wore my jacket when we were outside because it was a little chilly in Milwaukee.
Finally I just wore my black Coach crossbody bag you guys have seen a thousand times... I really need to invest in a clutch or a chain shoulder bag for going out.

Outfit-- Top: Marshall's. Pants: Target. Jacket: IZOD. Loafers: MIA. Watch: Fossil. White/Gold necklace: Forever 21. Grey Necklace: J.Crew.

Hair/Makeup-- I'm wearing my extensions and just loosely curled my hair and pulled it to one side with a middle part. Make up is pretty simple. Just some gold shadow, black winged eyeliner, lots of mascara, pink cream blush, Clinique Chubby Stick on my lips in the shade Strawberry.

Hope you enjoyed!

Peplum

Hi everyone!

I have been seeing the peplum trend on the runway, celebrities and online shopping.
I just want to know what you guys think of it?
I think it's cute. Maybe I can find one at H&M or Forever 21 and play around with it.

These two are from Modcloth.com

As you can see here the style has been shown in blazers, skirts and dresses.

And these two lovely skirts are from asos.com
What do you all think about this trend?

Spring Break Haul

Hello my loves!
I'm so sorry I was MIA the past week.
I was literally living at my job and trying to hang out with as many people as possible over my short break from school.
This has been the longest I have ever gone without shopping--
I haven't gone SINCE AUGUST. I mean, I've bought a few things here and there but not a full blown shopping trip.
I decided it was okay to treat myself :)

Nike Lunarlon Running Shoes. TOMS Floral Cordones. MIA Leopard Loafers.

Coral IZOD jacket. Black satiny shirt from Marshall's. Mint crops from Marshall's.

Calvin Klein yoga leggings. Puma shorts. Nike shorts.

Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light Plus. Mac Studio Sculpt Concealer in NC20. Mac Paint Pot in Painterly. Clinique Chubby Stick 07 Super Strawberry.
Chanel Lipstick in Charme. Lucky Brand Bracelets.

Clinique Foaming Mousse Cleanser. Lush It's Raining Men Shower Gel. Samples of Lush's Almond Smoothie and Ocean Salt. Lush's Buffy Body Butter.

I always stop in Lush when I'm at Macy's but to be honest I've always been a little clueless as to what to get. After hearing so many rave reviews on YouTube I decided to finally get a couple products.
I got the travel size of It's Raining Men and I absolutely love it. It lathers really well and smells soo good. The Buffy Body Butter has ground almonds in it so it also exfoliates-- I plan to use it about once a week. This is how the worker [who was so nice and helpful] said to use it-- take your shower and at the end turn off the water and rub Buffy all over. Afterwards turn the shower back on and run a loofa all over your body to get off any of the almond pieces. I should warn you, it leaves a slight residue. If that bothers you check out Aqua Mirabilis. It's really moisturizing though and makes your shower a little more luxurious.

Overall I'm really happy with everything I got. I still want to order a Mac quad from the Shop collection and the Nicki Minaj Viva Glam lipstick. We'll see though!
I was chatting with the workers in Lush, they're so nice and so helpful and also the gorgeous woman who was helping me at the Mac counter.

I hope you guys enjoyed!
Have you gone shopping lately?

Coral Love

Hello loves!
I'm sorry it's been SO long since I last posted.
My spring break started on Friday and it's been kind of a crazy week.
I went shopping with my mom on Saturday. I'm looking for a bag that I can use in summer and fall.
I love the Maddox Collection from Fossil. I've been eyeing this particular bag.

It looks cute crossbody, and has a nice structure. I'm looking for a bag that I can use in Spain that's big enough to travel with but not huge. What do you guys think?

While we were at Macy's I fell in love with this lightweight coral jacket. It's water resistant, has an interesting collar, is perfect for layering and is a beautiful color. And I got it on sale! Woo!

I experimented with layering a denim shirt and a vest under it and leaving it open. And also wearing it closed with a bright scarf that has the same coral color in it.

Details-- Jacket: IZOD. Scarf: From a boutique up north. Denim Shirt: Old Navy.
Vest: Liz Claiborne. Belt: Forever 21. Pants: Target. Boots: DSW. Watch: Fossil.

Overall I'm super happy with my find! I hope you guys have been doing well and I'll talk to you soon!

Hello Spring

Hello loves!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.
The weather is absolutely beautiful and I'm taking advantage of it.
It's currently 65 degrees! Seriously perfect.

I was planning on wearing this silk shirt with more buttons done and tucking the front into my jeans but it wasn't looking the way I wanted.
I was kind of inspired by the bandeau trend and I layered this bright tank under my shirt and undid a few buttons. I left it untucked because it's such a delicate material, I wanted a light and carefree feeling from it.
I don't like the look when people roll up their jeans like 4 times to make them into capris, they usually end up too short and it just looks weird.
Instead, I took my jeans with the skinniest ankle opening and just pulled them up once to make them slightly cropped.
Finally, on my nails I have the main color a pastel blue, and I have 2 accent nails on each hand-- one mint green and one light gold. Tip: Keep your accent nail in the same color family, or one that is neutral and compliments the main color. It looks weird, in my opinion, if you have a completely opposite color.

Details-- Silk shirt: Old Navy. Tank: Forever 21. Jeans: 7 For All Mankind.
Shoes: Classic TOMS.

I'm enjoying this beautiful day by reading, having an iced tea at my favorite coffee shop, and listening to my current favorite song.

What are you all up to today!
Talk to you soon.

Wendy's Lookbook

Hello there!
Today I want to share with you one of my absolute favorite blogs.
I just got the urge to do this post after I watched Wendy's latest youtube video.
I'm sure at least some of you are aware of the amount of beauty guru's on youtube. I'm subscribed to quite a few myself.
While I enjoy all of their videos, it tends to get a bit repetitive-- what's in my bag, my foundation routine, monthly favorites, etc.
I just want to express to all of you how great Wendy and her mystery man's videos are. They are of such high quality, and are really unique. They deserve to be more widely known.

Besides their great work, Wendy has impeccable style and she's really funny. I'm constantly inspired by her.

I hope you all check her out!
What are some of your favorite blogs/youtubers?

Since a blog post without pictures is no fun, here is my latest coral obsession.

How cute is this? I cannot express to you how badly I want this handmade, leather clutch. The seller makes them to order and there are also more colors available. Check it out here.

Craft Time

Hello everyone!
I know I have said this so many times, but I seriously cannot wait for spring. I'm so sick of the cold weather and bulky clothes.

But anyway, Sarah and I made some crafts with our wonderful friend Kate.

This blue bracelet is just a strip of a bandana and I distressed it a bit by running the edge of a scissors along it and doubled it around my wrist

This headband is three strips of two different fabrics tied together to make them really long and then I just braided those together

OOTD
