Questionnaire

Good morning!
Or afternoon
Or evening... depending on when you're reading this
I'm just writing this quick before my morning class.
I'm about to start my last week of classes and I'm so excited! I can't believe it's almost summer.
Amarixe, another YouTuber I'm a fan of, posted this little questionnaire on her blog a while ago, and I figured I'd share my answers with you! It's not necessarily a tag, but if you want to do this feel free to leave it as a comment, or a link to your post on it :)

1. Mood: Anxious, excited, sad-- I'm anxious and excited for summer and Spain, but I'm sad that I won't see my friends at school until spring semester next year :(
2. Are there any spring trends you're loving this year? Any you're hating?: I'm definitely loving seeing neon in different forms. I feel like we kind of see neon every spring, but this year people are attacking it-- color blocking and combining different neon colors. And no, there aren't any I'm really hating.
3. Do you like to cook?: YES
4. Current nail polish: Sinful Colors Thimbleberry

5. What is something you are excited about at the moment?: SUMMER, working and spending time with my friends I haven't seen all year
6. Current outfit: Pink Adidas zip up, Hollister jeans, Sperry's, Blue North Face rain coat [the weather is lousy again]
7. Are you a heavy or light sleeper?: I have a rough time falling asleep, but once I'm out, I'm out. So I guess both.
8. What size handbag do you prefer?: A medium crossbody
9. Do you like karaoke?: I never really go, but I think it would be fun!
10: Weekly goals: Study a lot for my exams, finish my big project early, remember to take time for myself :)

I hope you guys enjoyed!

I Love Food

Hi there
The weather has been incredibly lousy the past two days, and to be honest, I don't feel like doing a thing.
One of my roommates, Megan, and I went to a synagogue this morning for a "simulated culture shock" assignment for our study abroad orientation.
Let me just tell you, it was quite the experience.
After freezing in there all morning, we grabbed lunch and haven't been doing much since.
Last night we decided to give a recipe for Cauliflower Pizza Crust a shot. It was really good, but I think we may have put too much cheese on it. The crust couldn't really stay together in the middle under the weight of the cheese haha whoops.

After that, I decided to try this recipe for Black Bean Brownies.
I'm quite sad to say, that I didn't particularly enjoy them. It might have been the kind of beans I used, because the taste wasn't covered up.
I made a few adjustments to the recipe based on what the reviews said, and I didn't have any instant coffee to add, so maybe that's why you could taste the beans so much.
Sad day.

But on the subject of food, I like to snap a shot of my meals before I eat them [if I'm not too hungry and don't just dive right in]--

Nonfat vanilla yogurt with vanilla almond granola, strawberries and blueberries.
I could live off of yogurt and granola.

Salad with romaine, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, feta, balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Pine nut hummus with pretzels and half of a banana.

Pre-formed turkey burger I cooked in a pan with bean salsa on top. Apple cinnamon Chobani yogurt and diet citrus green tea.

Wheat pita with turkey, avocado, lettuce, tomato and dijon mustard. Carrots with hummus and half of a banana.

One of my favorite sweet treats--
Chocolate rice cake with 1T of almond butter, heated up in the microwave for 15 seconds and sprinkled with cinnamon.
Literally. To. Die. For.

What I've been having for breakfast lately--
Spinach Feta Egg Cups
-1 Container of Egg Beaters [I'm usually wary of substitutes, but I figured that using egg beaters isn't that big of a deal]
-1/2 Package of frozen spinach
-1/2 cup of feta cheese

Simply mix the egg beaters with the frozen spinach and pour into a nonstick muffin pan. Top each cup with a sprinkle of feta and bake at 350ºF for 20-25 minutes. Store in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Simple reheat for about 45 seconds in the microwave and enjoy!
Best part-- they're about 70 calories each.
I've been loving starting my day off with 1-2 of these and a 1/2 of a grapefruit.

Hope you guys enjoyed!

Handbag Dilemma

Hi lovelies!
I hope you're having a good day.
It's almost the weekend!
My day consisted of class, a nap [who even has time for naps?], and homework at Starbucks

Best 100 calories of my day-- Iced Skinny Vanilla Latte

As you probably know by now, I'm living in Spain this fall. I plan on doing a lot of traveling while abroad and I'm in the market for a good, new handbag.
I thought I decided on the one I want, but now I'm not sure.

These are my requirements for the bag:

-Leather
-Optional crossbody strap
-Wide enough to fit a DSLR camera

You might remember I posted about a Fossil bag a couple months ago, and I tried it on in store a few times and I like it, I just don't LOVE it.

While I was in Macy's a bit ago, I tried on a Dooney & Bourke bag that I had been eyeing online [please ignore the lack of makeup]

I couldn't add an actual picture of the bag from the website, so here is the link

Right now this is my number one choice, but here are some other contenders--

I'd love to hear your opinions and if you have any suggestions for me!!

Church & Coffee

Happy Wednesday!
How's your week going?

I just have a little OOTD for you today.
I went to church on Sunday with one of my roommates and her friend who was visiting, it was really nice to meet her :)
After she left we went to a coffee shop that gives free coffee to college students on Sundays. I accidentally drank like 6 cups.

Details-- Blazer: H&M. Tank: Express. Pants: Target. Loafers: MIA. Watch: Fossil. Clutch: American Apparel. Lips: Clinique Chianti.

I also was a little naughty and ordered the most delicious, and huge banana chocolate chip muffin at the coffee shop.

Thanks so much for reading!
What do you guys like to do on Sundays?

Spring Awakening

Hello loves!
I hope you're having a great weekend.
Friday I headed to UW Stevens Point to visit my friend Mandy.
We saw their production of Spring Awakening.
I cannot tell you how great it was.
It is such a phenomenal show, and their performance was wonderful.
We had chills the entire time because their voices were so good.
All of the songs are so good, but this one is probably my favorite.

Here's what we wore

Details-- Top and Tank: Forever 21. Pants: Target. Shoes: Vera Wang. Clutch: American Apparel.

Overall it was such a great time. I want to thank Mandy for being so great and letting me stay with her!

Hope you had a great weekend!
Talk to you soon :)

Anything & Everything

Hello everyone!
I don't know what the weather is like by all of you, but it has been rainy here the past couple days.
I don't entirely mind though, it gives me an excuse to wear my rain boots.

Here's what I wore yesterday to battle the rain

Details-- Jacket: IZOD. Top: Forever 21. Pants: Target. Rain boots: Hunter.

Do any of you have Hunter rain boots? I must have stored mine wet because the wax is "sweating" through. I read online you can put armor all on them so they don't get that grey tinge. I'd love to hear your suggestions, if you have any!
I have a legitimate rain coat, but I felt like wearing this jacket instead. It still it pretty water resistant, so it worked just fine :)

My roommates and I went out with some friends on Friday; here's what we wore

...and this is me being weird.

Saturday night we stayed in and just hung out. It was wonderful.
We tie dyed, had cheesecake and watched movies--

Hopefully the weather is better by you guys and I hope your week is going well.
I haven't posted any recipes in a while, but I have been taking pictures of my meals occasionally haha.
I was thinking of maybe doing a post on it if that's something you're interested in?

I'd love if you followed me on twitter and tumblr.
Thanks for reading!

Makeup Storage

Hello all!
I hope you survived Monday.
I am going to visit one of my great friends at her college this weekend and we're going to see their production of Spring Awakening. I'm beyond excited. I'll make sure to get some pictures of our outfits :)

My desk at school is kind of my multi-purpose area.
I do homework there, blog, do my makeup, eat, you name it.
It's also where I store most of my makeup.
Now, when I go home for the summer I'm planning on changing my room around a bit and then I will update you on my makeup storage, but this is what I have for now!

Overview

I keep my makeup mirror (which is way too small) on one of my Fossil tins so it's taller. Then I keep my moisturizers and foundations next to my drawers with my makeup.

This is where I keep the bulk of my makeup. I clearly don't have a large collection, but it's good for now. In the bottom drawer I keep face products-- extra foundation, bronzer, blush, msf, and concealer. The middle drawer is where I keep my brushes and extra lip products. The top is for all of my eye products. On top I have my current perfumes, Chanel Chance, Burberry Brit, and Tommy Girl.

On this side I keep my lipstick organizer, D&G watch box where I keep my watches, Tiffany box where I keep my most worn jewelry, gum, container with Lush soap, Lush tin with a massage bar, and then lotion, lip balms, and deodorant.

Here is a close up of my lipstick organizer [you can buy it here].
I really wanted the 24 section option, but it was on backorder, so I got the 12 section.
Going from left to right--
Back Row: Chanel Gabrielle, Clinique Pink Spice, Raspberry Glacé, and Baby Baby, Revlon Fuchsia Fusion, Clinique Chubby Stick in Super Strawberry.
Front Row: Chanel Charme, Clinique Tender-Heart, A Different Grape, and Chianti, Benetint in Rose, and Buxom Lipgloss.

I loveee organization containers and stuff because I'm weird. I cannot wait to redo my makeup area at home. If you guys have any tips or tricks you like to use, I'd love to hear!

Talk to you soon, and thanks for reading.

Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag

Hi everyone!
I hope your week has been going well.
I'm so happy it's almost Friday. This week went particularly slow.
I think because I was soo busy last week, this week just seemed to drag on.

One of my favorite beauty YouTubers is Ingrid, or missglamorazzi.
She just did the Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty tag the other day and she tagged all of her viewers. Since I don't make videos, I figured I'd do a blogpost about it.
So here we go!

Questions:
1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?
3. GLUTTONY: What are you most delicious beauty products?
4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self-confidence?
6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

7. ENVY: what items would you most like to receive as a gift?

1. Drugstore black eyeliner [I think it was like $1.29?] and Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Foundation
2. Concealer—I love that it fixes my breakouts, but I hate that I’m almost 20 and I still have the skin of a pubescent teen; very prone to irregular breakouts.
3. Best Smelling—Lush's 'It’s Raining Men' shower gel.  Best Tasting—Forever 21 chapstick
4. Brow gel/pencil. I rarely fill in my brows, and I usually just wet my fingers a bit to smooth and hold them in place.
5. A good foundation—my skin is so irregular and rarely do I have a completely clear complexion, so when I have a foundation that gives me good coverage but still looks natural, I feel the best. But I'd have to say that Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural always leaves such a nice finish on my skin, whether I'm wearing foundation or not, so that is probably the product that makes me feel the best.
6. Appearance—great teeth, nice hair, and well fitting pants. Personality—outgoing, genuine, funny and easy going.
7. As cliché as it is, anything that comes from the heart and has meaning to it. It could be pretzels and nutella because that is one of my favorite treats [I did receive this as a give from one of my best friends Hanna] or anything from Lush because Lush always makes me happy :)

I tag all of you to do this! Feel free to leave your answers in the comments
Check out my tumblr, and follow me on twitter!

Talk to you soon!

Betsey Johnson Nail Polish

Hi there loves!
I hope your day is going well.
I am so anxious for the next 4 weeks of class to be done that time seems to be in slow motion.
I'm trying to stay motivated and positive though, summer will be here before we know it!

I was just browsing around on some blogs today and I came across this video

While some of Betsey Johnson's designs are a bit out there for my taste, I absolutely love her. She proves you can be young at heart. My cat eye sunglasses I have from her are some of my favorites.

Here is a preview of the line

I really love all of the colors. I think I'll have to pick some up when it comes out!
What do you guys think?

Have a great rest of your day!

Simple & Sultry

Hello my lovely readers!
I'm so sorry my posts have been so inconsistent.
I'm hoping to get back into a routine, I've just been so busy with school.

Today I have one of my favorite eye looks that I've been wearing lately.
I don't like not wearing any eyeliner, but that is what takes me the longest in my makeup routine, and that's the last thing I want to do when I'm heading to early morning classes.
I'm a big fan of liner on the upper lash line, but lately I've been going back to my middle school days and opting for my lower water line.

This is so much easier because it defines your eyes but you don't have to worry about making the lines uneven or really screwing it up.

So here's the look! Hope you enjoy.

Sorry this photo is so blurry! But I wanted to give you a close up view as well.

The best part about this look is it's soo simple and there's not a ton of products. First I used my Mac Paint Pot in Painterly as a base, just place it all over the lid and up onto the brow bone. Next, I actually place my highlight before the lid shadow. I just used a Maybelline shadow in Vanilla. Place this on the inner corners and brow bones. You can use any color shadow for this look but I really like the way it looks with gold, so I used the gold shadow in my no name pallet from Ulta. Next, use a very black eyeliner and run it alone your lower water line. I also added a tiny bit to the very outer edge of my upper lash line and winged it out. Then finish with several coats of mascara!

It's so simple but has a kind of dramatic effect.
I hope this was helpful and thanks so much for reading!
