Neon

Hello lovelies!
I've been loving the neon trend that I have been seeing glimpses of lately.
When the weather starts to warm up I plan on finding ways to incorporate it into my outfits.
I think rather than using one piece as the stable of the outfit, it's really bold to pair several neon items together.
I can't wait to buy a pair of circular-lensed sunglasses.
Finally, I am obsessed with the high waisted swimsuit bottoms, but who knows if I'm daring enough to actually buy some.
Here are some of my favorite items.

Unknown Lipstick. Alexander Wang Skirt.
Emilio Pucci Shoes. Alexander McQueen Ring.
Diane Von Furstenberg Skirt. H&M Blazer.
H&M Jewelry. Marc Jacobs Bag.
Michael Kors Shorts. Norma Kamali Bikini.
Proenza Schouler Bag. Shimmi Bikini.

Leather Love

I was browsing around Marshall's several weeks ago and came across these
faux leather shorts.
I wasn't too sure how I felt about them, or if I could pull them off but then I looked at the price tag and they were only $4!!
I figured if I couldn't find a way to wear them,
it didn't even matter since they were so cheap.

Surprisingly, they have been finding their way
into my outfits more often than I expected.
Whether it be for going out, a day when I feel a little more edgy, or a New Year's celebration, I've been getting a lot of use out of them.

In this more casual outfit I paired them with this graphic tee you guys have seen before and a chunky cardigan to balance the intensity of the shorts. I wore my combat boots, incorporating more leather,
but they're short enough that it didn't feel like too much.

Details-- Sweater: H&M. Tee: H&M. Shorts: Marshall's. Tights: Hue.
Boots: Steve Madden. Bag: Dooney and Bourke.

Kara The Boy

I like incorporating slightly masculine pieces into my outfits balanced with something a bit more feminine.
I bought these Sperry High Tops a while ago but haven't worn them as often as I'd like to.
I feel like they're a little less masculine when I wear my jeans over the top, but still have that kind of "cool" feel.
I paired it with a chunky sweater and wore it off the shoulder to add some femininity, but still have a casual feel.

I liked to balance this by having soft, wavy hair.
Here's how I usually curl my hair.
I use my Remington Curling Wand and curl 2 inch sections, starting with the bottom layer. After I curl all of my hair, I hair spray it and slightly brush it out.

Details-- Sweater: Forever 21. Jeans: American Eagle. Shoes: Sperry Topsider.

Favorite Things

Hello everyone!
I'm sorry it has been so long since I last posted.
Things have been crazy with moving back to school and starting class again. I'll do my best to still post regularly :)

Here are some things I have been loving lately!

NYX Cream Blush in Glow. Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer.
Bath & Body Works Shea Cashmere Hand Cream in Black Amethyst.
Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Blossom.
Ring from H&M. Chanel Chance Perfume.

I've been using a lot of moisturizers to prevent dry skin and these have been my favorite. I also like to use a cream blush as opposed to a powder one during winter.

Sleepytime Green Lemon Jasmine Tea.
Cinnavanilla Candle. iPod Classic. Betsey Johnson Sunnies.

This tea is great, especially when you get stressed from class, and this is the candle I've been burning most often. My iPod broke a couple months ago, so I'm very happy that I have a new one!

Macy's Scarf. Sparkly J.Crew Top. D&G Watch.

I have been wearing a lot of chunky scarves to stay warm and I've been loving dressing down this sparkly shirt so I can incorporate it into my wardrobe more.

Let me know if any of you guys try any of these items!

Happy Birthday

I got to celebrate my dear friend Joe's birthday with some great friends this evening :)

The Group

What I ate (sorry for the poor quality photo)
White Chicken Chili from The Cheesecake Factory

What I wore

Blazer: H&M. Top: Marshall's. Belt: Forever 21.
Leggings: Marshall's. Boots: DSW. Watch: D&G. Headbands: Target.

Makeup

I kept it simple by priming my lids with Urban Decay Primer Potion and adding Sephora's eyeshadow in Exciting Safari all over my lids and Maybelline's Vanilla in my inner corners and under my brow. Then I made a dark V in the outer corners with Elf eyeliner and applied several coats of Covergirl Lashblast mascara. Then I added some Clinique Blush in Cupid on my cheeks. The focus was the Revlon Lipstick in Fuchsia Fusion.

Here's the birthday boy :)

It was a great way to spend one of my last nights in town.
Hope you enjoyed!

Fishtail

I've found that I really like shopping at Old Navy for simple, basic items.
I picked up this fishtail jacket early in fall and have been working to find more ways to wear it.
It's relatively thin, but layers well. I've worn it left open with a long tank and a cardigan with the sleeves rolled up over leggings, and also zipped up with a scarf.
When it was warmer I found it worked well to wear zipped up over leggings with my rain boots on gloomy days.

Pairing it with a bold scarf and tall boots gives a chic, yet effortless look.

Details-- Jacket: Old Navy. Scarf: Can't remember. Pants: Target. Boots: DSW.
Bag: Coach. Watch: D&G. Sunnies: PacSun.

Popeye

I had never tried putting vegetables in my smoothies before so I gave it a try today.

Ingredients-- 1 to 2 cups of spinach with stems removed, 1 cup of water or milk, 1/2 cup frozen berries, 1 banana, 1 tsp flax seed.

To make-- First blend spinach together with water to ensure there are no big pieces, then add the rest of the ingredients and mix! It turns a really heinous brown color, but it's very good and really nutritious.

Along with this smoothie, I had some spinach scrambled eggs for lunch.

First I removed the stems from about 1 cup of spinach and put them in a pan over medium heat with a little bit of chopped onion and garlic and a splash of milk.
Cover and let cook for about 3-4 minutes.

Next I added one whole egg and one egg white. There is a lot of nutrition in the yolk, but I like to save calories by only using one.
TIP: Plan to use only the white from the first egg you crack in case you accidentally let the yolk slip in. If that does happen, then you can try again with the second egg.
If you screw that one up too... you suck.

I added some salt and stirred the eggs around slowly scrambling them.  At the last minute I sprinkled on a little bit of mozzarella cheese and replaced the cover to let it melt.

Give this a try!
It's a great post workout meal packed with protein, natural carbs and plenty of vitamins!
Let me know if you do.

Wedding

I hadn't gone to a wedding in years so I was really excited to attend the wedding of my brother's good friend, Tom. Here's my hair, makeup and outfit!

Hair--
I simply curled 2 inch sections with my Remington Curling wand, then lightly brushed it out and hair sprayed it.

Makeup--
Face: I applied moisturizer, a foundation primer and foundation then I did some contouring with bronzer. After, I applied a cream blush and a finishing powder.
Face Products: Aveeno Clear Complexion Moisturizer, L'Oreal Paris Foundation Primer, L'Oreal Paris Magic Smooth Foundation, Clinique Bronzer in Aglow, NYX Cream Blush in Glow and Bare Minerals Mineral Veil.

Eyes: I primed my lids, applied white in the inner corner, the nude and gold shadows all over my lids, the darker brown in my crease and the eye pencil under my eyes. I went over the eye pencil with the gold shadow and created a dark V on the outer edges of my eyes with black eyeliner.  Finally I applied several coats of mascara.
Eye Products: Urban Decay Primer Potion, No Name Pallet, Sephora Eye Shadow in Exciting Safari, Maybelline Eyeshadow in Vanilla, NYX Jumbo Eye Pencis in French Fries, Elf Eyeliner in Black, Covergirl Lashblast Mascara in Black.

Lips: I dabbed the red lipstick on to create a base and layered the burgundy color over top of that.
Lip Products: Chanel Lipstick in Gabrielle, Clinique Lipstick in Chianti.

Outfit--
Pumps: Kohl's

Blazer: H&M. Dress: American Eagle.

Bag: Coach

Rings: Forever 21

And here's a photo of the wedding party and the bride & groom.

Sorry this is such a long post! Please comment :)
