Update

Hi loves!
Just have a quick update for you
First of all. I'm a complete idiot.
I have taken so many photos on my trip so far, and I try to keep them all organized and whatnot, but I still manage to be an idiot.
I didn't realize that I had already shared the photos from Westminster Abbey and Big Ben with you guys and I made another post with them. Haha so yes, I'm an idiot.
The past several days have been absolutely crazy.
We flew from Paris to Alicante, Spain on Wednesday.
It was a fiasco going to our "hotel" which was actually some of the dorms that they apparently turn into a hotel during the summer, but we were unaware and therefore very confused.
I explored the city with my mom and Margaret on Thursday and began my orientation Friday.
It was so difficult to say goodbye to my mom and I'm still kind of sad. I'm just a baby.
This weekend was wonderful. I met the other students who used the same program that I did for their study abroad experience, we learned a lot about the university and the city, ate a lot of delicious food and experienced the night life.
Yesterday was one of the most nerve-racking days for me.

I met my host family

They're very nice; it's a husband and a wife and they have an older daughter who doesn't live with them anymore.
It's just a very strange experience.
Living in a strangers home, eating meals with them, showering, working past the language barrier. It's all very uncomfortable.
And I'm just really awkward as it is, so I am making it harder on myself.
I'm sure I'll feel different in a week, but right now I just have this constant nervous feeling.
I start my first day of classes at the university today and I have the nerves of every first day of school built up in me right now.
I'm sure it will be fine and I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Sorry it's taking me so long to get the photos up from Paris, but that post will be coming this week some time.
I'm sure you can understand how crazy the past week has been for me, so I appreciate your understanding!

Talk to you all soon and wish me luck!
XO Kara

  2. It doesn't matter that you're a little idiot, you still write lovely pieces!
I can imagine how awkward you must feel in someone else's house, but remember it's your home now too!
I'm so jealous you get to experience this! You should enjoy every minute of it, because it's a once in a lifetime experience :)

Can't wait to see more pictures!
