Last of London

Hello!!
I hope everyone is doing well

First thing's first
TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!
Weeee! 20 years old.
Yay.

Moving on
Here are the last of my photos from London
Overall, it was absolutely spectacular. I seriously loved every moment of it. We walked almost everywhere, even in the torrential downpour on our second day.
Everything about the city is wonderful.
I loved all of the history, the food was delicious, the men were [very] attractive, the fashion was unique and the city was breathtaking.
I need to go back at some point in my life.

From here we said goodbye London, and bonjour Paris.
Here are the last photos of my time in London.

 Westminster Abbey

Big Ben and House of Parliament
 Restaurant in the Shepherd's Market
Risotto with peas and pumpkin seeds and grilled chicken
Sorry it's blurry, but we were on a bus when I took this photo
This is the Tower Bridge with the Paralympic Logo hanging from it

I hope you enjoyed and photos from Paris will be coming soon!!

Buckingham Palace

Hi friends!!
We arrived in Paris two days ago; we took the EuroStar from London to Paris under the English Channel. I don't know what I was expecting, but you have no idea that you're going under the English Channel. Regardless, it was still really cool.
We arrived in Alicante, Spain-- my new home, last night.
And I just have one thing to say about it.

It's hot.

We went on a tour through Buckinham Palace the other day and it was absolutely phenomenal. I'm so so happy we did it. I just can't believe I walked through the Queen's home.
We got to look out at the huge courtyard, walk through the state rooms, see her drawing and music rooms, learn all about the ornate decorations and so much more. The feature presentation this year was the diamond display since it was a Jubilee Year.
We got to see some of the iconic crowns, necklaces and broaches.
Afterwards, we went out into the garden and had pastries.
It was something I'll never forget.
Before that we watched the changing of the guards, and it was so busy. But still pretty cool to see.

 I had a vanilla cheesecake
Mom had a scone with clotted cream and strawberries
Margaret had a Strawberry Frasier

Thanks for reading!
Talk to you soon

Recap

Hello blog friends!
I've been terrible at posting lately and I'm mad at myself for it. I'm sorry :(
A good way to keep up with what I've been doing [and eating] recently is through Instagram. My username is ktimmel.

Here are some things I've been loving lately!
amaretto & coconut gelato
bright colors & floral patterns
picking up lunch from the grocery store
sneaking my favorite denim shirt into my summer wardrobe
waking up, reading & having my coffee while getting some sun
 kayaking
sushi
gorgeous Rebecca Minkoff bag that is STILL and Marshalls and is still tempting me
DIY chair to complete my makeup desk
wheat bagel with garlic & herb cream cheese, turkey, lettuce, onion, & sun-dried tomato spread
having a great time at Summerfest
editing photos with the app "Diptic"

So that's a little peek into what I've been doing lately!
What have you been up to?

Catch Up

Hello everyone!
I don't have anything beauty related to talk about today.
I just thought I'd make a quick post about my day.
Mondays are a really long day for me, but I got quite a bit accomplished today.
I'm making progress on re-reading the Harry Potter series.
I'm currently on the 5th book

I made turkey burgers a little bit ago for some of my friends and I had a leftover one for dinner tonight.
They're really simple to make.
I take a 93% lean package of ground turkey and add chopped garlic, salt and season salt and make burgers out of them. A serving is 1/5 of the package but I actually made 8 burgers out of it, so they were just a little smaller.
I grilled them on an indoor grill and tonight I ate it on a whole wheat english muffin with spinach, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup and mustard.
You guys should really give it a try, they're so good.

I also had some carrots, half a banana and a diet citrus green tea

My friends Chelsea and Rachel are at the City & Colour concert tonight and I'm
so incredibly jealous.
I bet they're having a great time.

This is one of my favorite songs by them-- click to listen

Overall, it was a good day. All I wanted to do was stay in bed when I saw how gloomy it was outside but as the sun came out I got in a more productive mood.

I hope you all had a good day, and that this week goes well :)

Girly Snack

It was girls night last night-- filled with gossip, nail polish and ...food.
Wanting to bring a slightly healthy snack, I made fruit salsa with cinnamon sugar tortilla chips.
Here's my recipe : )

Start with strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and 3 kiwis.
Slice the strawberries into small pieces, dice the kiwis, halve the blackberries, and toss the blueberries all in a bowl.
Dress with lemon and lime juice and a little bit of sugar, depending of the sweetness of the fruit.

For the chips-- brush about 6 flour tortillas with melted butter then dip in or sprinkle on cinnamon sugar (1/2 c. sugar with 2 tsp. cinnamon). Cut into wedges and place on a sheet tray lined with foil.
Bake at 350 for 6-8 minutes on the top rack.

Serve, and enjoy!

Let me know if you guys try this!
